The "3 Days of Jazz" festival from 19 - 21 January 2018 in Saalfelden Leogang

Jazz sounds in winter

3 days of jazz - this was the name of the very first jazz festival in Saalfelden. Today, almost 40 years later, it has grown into a festival with 37 concerts - the Saalfelden International Jazz Festival, which takes place every year on the last weekend in August. To shorten the waiting time, a small jazz festival was born three years ago under the same name in winter. This is the third time that "3 Tage Jazz" has taken place in January.

Four concerts at the Kunsthaus Nexus, two at the Leogang Mining and Gothic Museum and one concert at the Stöcklalm in Leogang offer a contrast not only in terms of the venues, but also musically.

While smaller formations from Austria - Georg Breinschmid solo and BartolomeyBittmann - will present themselves in an almost intimate setting at the museum, international acts such as the Michel Portal Quintet and Adam Baldych with the Helge Lien Trio will perform at Kunsthaus Nexus. The Austrians are also present here: the Dickbauer Collective will show that Austrian bands have long since arrived in the international arena, as will Edi Nulz - who will present their brand new CD. A free concert will take place at the Stöcklalm on the Asitz, where the band Crossroad will send warm sounds into the cold winter landscape.

The festival is jointly organised by the Saalfelden Tourist Board and the Centre for Contemporary Music. The "3 Days of Jazz" festival, like the International Jazz Festival in summer, is programmed by the artistic directors Mario Steidl and Michaela Mayer.
