More than 20 free concerts at the 39th International Jazz Festival Saalfelden

From 23-26 August 2018, the International Jazz Festival will take place for the 39th time in Saalfelden Leogang against the mountain backdrop of the Steinernes Meer.

Once a year, when the international jazz scene gathers in Saalfelden Leogang, renowned musicians and newcomers present their unusual sounds. Against an impressive natural and mountain backdrop - on alpine pastures, in concert halls and on other stages in the town - the spectrum ranges from concentrated listening to exuberant dancing and partying.

There's never been so much music "for free"!

In addition to 21 paid concerts on the MainStage in the Congress and the ShortCuts in the Kunsthaus Nexus, the Saalfelden Jazz Festival is offering even more concerts with free admission on a total of five different stages for the first time this year! In addition to the Citystage, the Nexus+, the Almkonzerte and the children's concert, another series has been launched this year. Under the title "City Tracks", two additional venues will be programmed for the first time: the Museum Schloss Ritzen with the "Paier Valcic Quartett" and the Wirthmiller bookshop with the "Duo Hofmaninger/Schwarz".

The festival traditionally starts on Thursday at 6.30 pm on the CityStage at Rathausplatz. This year with the band "Mokoomba" from Zimbabwe and "La Chiva Gantiva" from Belgium at 8.00 pm. On Friday and Saturday, two more concerts will take place on the stage at Rathausplatz.

Three alpine pastures will be played on Saturday and Sunday - starting on Saturday with the Huggenbergalm at 11.00 am: the Austrian band "Fainschmitz" is a real discovery with its mixture of gypsy swing, chanson and jazz. And "Die Strottern" on the Stöcklalm and "Dobrek Bistro" on the Kühbühel will also provide a great start to the last day of the festival on Sunday at 11.00 am.

The Nexus+ stage will be further expanded this year - a total of six concerts can be heard here for free on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Blackbox - tickets are available for the respective day from 6.00 pm in the Kunsthaus Nexus!
At the same time, the DJ collective "CLUB ANALOG" will open its record box in Cafe Nexus for the first time and play the coolest tracks in soul, funk and jazz history.

To make sure that the youngest jazz fans don't miss out, a children's concert with "Pepe & Speedy" will take place as usual on Sunday in the Kafka Saal at Kunsthaus Nexus.
