Among the more than 30 international acts are renowned US artists such as Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog, the duo Courvoisier/Davis, Avram Fefer, Craig Taborn or the formation Irreversible Entanglements. The European jazz scene is represented by great musicians such as Kaja Draksler, Angelika Niescier, KUU!, Dell/Lillinger/Westergaard or Kuhn Fu VI.
We are pleased to announce that tickets for the International Jazz Festival 2021 are now available!
With the Main Stage and the Short Cuts, the main stages of our festival, the stages that are especially dedicated to international formations will return this year. But the high proportion of Austrian formations also shows how lively jazz currently presents itself in Austria. With guided hikes and a bike tour to concerts on the mountains, we want to enable our audience to explore and experience the beautiful surroundings of Saalfelden Leogang even more intensively throughout the week.
The NEXUS+ series offers free concerts every evening starting on Monday. Look forward to David Helbock, the Richard Koch Quartet at the Nexus or Clemens Wenger, Katharina Ernst and Rdeča Raketa with extraordinary works at the Nexus Kunsthalle. Christian Reiner will be a guest in Saalfelden as an Artist in Residence with a total of five projects.
From Thursday on, the Buchbinderei Fuchs will once again become a spontaneous meeting place for improvising musicians. The already established city park will even be roofed over this year, guaranteeing musical enjoyment even on rainy days. One completely new venue is an empty construction hall from the 1950s, the Otto-Gruber-Halle in Saalfelden, which we will breathe new life into this year with extraordinary concerts.
Tickets for the paid concerts on the Main Stage, the Short Cuts, the Concert hikes and the bike tour can now be purchased online at: https://tickets.jazzsaalfelden.com/
or also at the Saalfelden Tourism Board under: Monika Seer; Tel. +43-6582-70660-16; monika.seer@saalfelden-leogang.at
Please note: Any compulsory registration for the free concerts depends on the Covid-19 regulations that will come into force in August. Unfortunately it is not available yet.
Saalfelden will thus once again be the city of music in the midst of Salzburg's mountains this year. Regardless of this, we are taking the current situation very seriously. Together with our Covid-19 representative, we are working on a comprehensive concept to ensure the highest possible safety for visitors, artists and staff on the event grounds. The current decree of the federal government states that a festival visit is only possible if you are vaccinated, tested or recovered - so of course this rule also applies in Saalfelden! Further information on Covid-19 measures in Austria can be found here: Ministry of Social Affairs
