The 3 Days of Jazz Saalfelden 2025 offers musical highlights with Velvet Revolution, Enemy and other highlights
The little sister of the renowned Saalfelden Jazz Festival presents a special jazz weekend from 24 to 26 January 2025.

In 2025, the ‘3 Days of Jazz’ festival will once again open the jazz year in Salzburger Land and promises an extraordinary experience for lovers of improvised music. International artists of the highest calibre, including the award-winning trio Velvet Revolution led by German jazz prize winner Daniel Erdmann and the celebrated formation Enemy with Kit Downes, Petter Eldh and James Maddren, promise the audience innovative sounds and improvisation.

Velvet Revolution brings together three exceptional musicians, renowned jazz violinist Théo Ceccaldi, saxophonist Daniel Erdmann and vibraphonist Jim Hart, who together create a unique world of sound. Their interplay is characterised by impressive melodies, rhythmic variety and experimental sound design and ranges stylistically from jazz to classical and contemporary music.

The Enemy trio, consisting of British pianist Kit Downes, Swedish bassist Petter Eldh and British drummer James Maddren, is regarded as one of the most exciting and innovative piano trios on the current jazz scene. Their music is characterised by complex rhythms and improvisations as well as dynamic energy. The combination of virtuoso piano runs, sophisticated drumming and rousing grooves creates moments full of tension - only to enchant the listener the next moment with gentle, harmonious melodies.

Like the Saalfelden Jazz Festival, ‘3 Days of Jazz’ also favours unusual venues: In addition to the Kunsthaus Nexus as the central venue, the Saalfelden parish church and the Leogang Mining & Gothic Museum provide an impressive backdrop for a festival programme that captivates with an inspiring mix of experimental sounds, innovative arrangements and creative joy of playing. Alongside Velvet Revolution and Enemy, the new Austrian duo of cellist Asja Valcic and bassist Raphael Preuschl will be presenting their unmistakable musical language, characterised by groovy rhythms, elegiac melodies and imaginative improvisations. With this artistic diversity, Saalfelden will once again become the centre of contemporary jazz for three days in January 2025.
