Line-up 3 Days of Jazz 2025

With ‘3 Days of Jazz’ from 24-26 January 2025, Saalfelden Leogang is all about improvised music.
From 24 to 26 January 2025, Saalfelden Leogang will once again be the meeting place for the international jazz scene: the 3 Days of Jazz Festival invites you on a musical journey full of sonic diversity and contrasts. With concerts at various venues such as the Kunsthaus Nexus, the Saalfelden parish church, the Mining and Gothic Museum Leogang and the AsitzBräu in the centre of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, the festival presents top-class artists from Austria and beyond.
Diverse highlights at a wide variety of venues
On Friday 24 January, the festival kicks off in the Saalfelden parish church. There, the Velvet Revolution trio, featuring Daniel Erdmann on tenor saxophone, Théo Ceccaldi on violin and Jim Hart on vibraphone, will celebrate its tenth anniversary and promises a top-class chamber music jazz experience.

After a brief ‘change of location’, the programme continues at Kunsthaus Nexus, where the Viennese formation AHL6, led by drummer Lukas Aichinger, presents a wild mix of surf rock, jazz and sound painting. This is followed by a no less original sound with explosive waves of sound from Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity, with the original formation being expanded to include the three saxophonists Signe Emmeluth, Kjetil Møster and Eirik Hegdal.

A musical journey of discovery
On Saturday, the Kunsthaus Nexus will also be the centre of the action. The trio Enemy, consisting of Kit Downes (piano), Petter Eldh (bass) and James Maddren (drums) - all three no strangers to Saalfelden - will kick things off. Their music, characterised by complex rhythms and high intensity, is regarded as a gripping interplay of extremes.
With ‘Never Again’, the multi-award-winning British trumpeter Laura Jurd presents her quartet, with which she combines 70s influences from Miles Davis and British alternative rock. South Korean drummer Sun Mi Hong guarantees a different kind of versatile playing with her international quintet, operating on the border between sophisticated composition and freely improvised music.

For all dance fans, there is rock'n'roll at its finest on Saturday at the AsitzBräu, peppered with a good dose of entertainment: The band The Hot Rods provide an unforgettable lunchtime spectacle with their energetic music in a rustic atmosphere - and all this with free admission.

Closing concerts in the Mining and Gothic Museum
On Sunday, the festival moves from the Kunsthaus Nexus to the Leogang Mining and Gothic Museum. In the museum, visitors can look forward to a musical rendezvous with trumpeter Laura Jurd and bassist Petter Eldh, while the festive finale will be provided by the duo Asja Valcic (cello) and Raphael Preuschl (bass ukulele) with their warm and earthy programme ‘Velvet’, which will literally send the audience off into Sunday in a ‘velvety’ mood.

A must for jazz enthusiasts and culture lovers
The 3 Days of Jazz 2025 in Saalfelden Leogang promises unforgettable concerts, inspiring artists and unique sound experiences in extraordinary surroundings. Now in its eighth edition, the festival is no longer an insider tip and is a firm highlight in the Austrian cultural calendar.
