The Jazzfestival Saalfelden, which will take place from 22-25 August 2024 for the 44th time in Saalfelden Leogang, is packed with excellent music, unique venues and special gatherings. You can expect more than 60 concerts in the town, in the woods, musical hikes and concerts on the mountain, as well as a few surprises. You can secure your tickets now!
We would also like to give you a short preview of this year's programme now:
This year, the opening project on the mainstage was given to the Vienna-based clarinettist Mona Matbou Riahi. The Iranian-born clarinettist already delighted the audience last year with the formation "Melting Pot" at the Jazzfestival in the bookbindery Fuchs and has been a regular guest in Saalfelden with various projects in previous years. We are therefore all the more pleased that she will be performing together with musicians Dorian Concept, Manu Mayr and Lou Zon as part of the opening concert on the mainstage in 2024.
Another highlight in the line-up is the sextet „Thérapie de couple“: bandleader and saxophonist Daniel Erdmann has joined forces with Hélène Duret (clarinet/bass clarinet), Théo Ceccaldi (violin), Vincent Courtois (cello), Robert Lucaciu (double bass) and Eva Klesse (drums), world-famous and great musicians. He has brought them together for his German-French formation „Thérapie de couple“ and will perform an extraordinary concert on the mainstage at the Congress. Erdmann unites the members of his brilliant couple-therapeutic music group in a finely balanced, sometimes orchestral sound structure.
An Austrian project that draws its inspiration from both experimental and beat-heavy club music will be making a guest appearance in Saalfelden under the title "OtherMother" with Arthur Fussy, Jul Dillier and Judith Schwarz.
The famous pianist Kris Davis and her trio with Robert Hurst and Johnathan Blake, will present their brand new album "Run the Gauntlet", which will not be released until September, but in Saalfelden already in August. The drummer Oli Steidle will also be presenting his new album with the Killing Popes.
This year's visual leitmotif
This year's visual leitmotif was designed by Austrian graphic artist Hannes Hawle. A modern design that combines the best of the Jazzfestival Saalfelden - great music in the midst of breathtaking scenery.
